I don’t know a lot about Anna Laslo. But she is worth a blog post. Anna Laslo, of Tuckerman Street NW, Washington, DC, was by far the War Refugee Board’s largest individual donor. From a brick duplex in Takoma, Anna Laslo, who had relatives in Hungary, contributed over $1,000 to the War Refugee Board. That’s in 1944 money, so it’s really the equivalent of about $14,000.
“May it be God’s wish that this sum should help to save at least one soul in war torn Europe.”
