This week in April is one of the busiest weeks for the WRB.  The IGC reps are in town, Hirschmann has just returned from Turkey, there are three new WRB reps (and the WRB tries to get three more unsuccessfully).  And at a press conference featuring Hirschmann, much to his chagrin, the WRB planted a question about free ports for refugees.  Remember Samuel Grafton’s column at the beginning of the month?  Well, during a Q+A session after Hirschmann’s statement about the situation in Turkey, a reporter asked whether the WRB planned to open free ports in the United States. Pehle did not commit to the idea, but said it was being explored.   Poor Hirschmann. He loved publicity, but after his big press conference, the story was all about free ports.
