Henry Norweb, US ambassador to Portugal, began to hear rumors of ransom negotiations being conducted in Switzerland.  He reported “helpfully” that the Hungarian chargé d’affaires did not know anything about any discussions with the Gestapo.  Could the WRB please investigate this behavior?
