This is a memo of a discussion between Ralph Getsinger of the Bern legation and Dr. J.E. Schwarzenberg of the International Red Cross.  There are a few interesting things to note–the WRB’s 15,000 packages (the first batch of the 300,000 packages, packed by commercial packing companies and shipped quickly) were being held up by the Germans. So that’s not a good sign.  Still, the Red Cross offered old POW packages meant for Algerians for use to French political prisoners.  Not a bad deal!  The memo gives some neat details about the intricacies of sending packages into concentration camps–it was definitely not as easy as you might think.
