On August 28th, Assistant Executive Director of the WRB Lawrence Lesser held a meeting in New York with representatives of various relief organizations to explain the new plan to submit names of people in occupied territory.  These are the notes the AFSC representative took–they were nervous about the scheme, fearing that transmitting the names of people with relatives in the United States to the Nazis so they would be protected would call attention to people who might have managed to hide in the crowd.
